NICK PAUL DALBY
COLOURIST
Nick has worked his grading magic on a long list of adverts, films, and video content over the last 15 years. His unseen skills have helped enhance standout ad campaigns like Sport England’s This Girl Can, and lift music promos for artists including La Roux, Rudimental and Paul Weller.
Nick’s love of photography has also helped to develop his expert eye – but his early passions actually lay in music. He studied music technology at college, while also DJing and producing progressive house. His introduction to the grading suite came after he started working as a runner in Soho, where he was exposed to different creative projects and types of video hardware. He now works with established creatives and directors at UNIT, helping to bring their on-screen stories alive in music and colour. He has also been gradually expanding his focus to work on short films, other kinds of video content and long-form documentaries. Recent additions to Nick’s portfolio include music videos for Sampha (Blood On Me) and Laucan (Wait For The Impact) and the BFI-funded short film REMORA. He has also won a Gold BAD Award for Greenpeace and received an MVA Nomination for his grade on Lion by Casi.
