NISHA KAUR SETHI

Nisha balances art with activism. Her creative journey began with spray paint, while organising for social justice in her Californian neighbourhood. She has since moved into sign painting, letterform and typography, but is still firmly focused on resistance and creating social change.
To date Nisha has designed posters for various community actions, and helped to brand some of the most impactful social justice campaigns around the USA. She also launched her own art show, Brown Girl Resist, to reflect her underrepresented experience as a South Asian woman in the social justice movement.
Nisha now works as a freelance hand-letterer and sign-painter in Los Angeles and San Francisco withTrust Your Struggle: a collective of various artists using their creativity as a tool for change. She also sells streetwear and art through her brandKalakari, which pays tribute to her West Coast-Punjabi-activist roots.
