Laxmi’s art explores the female form and the changing shapes of bodies over time. Her work pushes for all bodies to be seen as valid and worthy of existing without judgment, by documenting and honouring them in all their difference.

Her desire to make art resurfaced with her eldest son’s love of drawing, and motherhood remains a central theme of her work. Laxmi’s pieces also frequently focus on small details that are typically overlooked or seen as imperfect, as a way of breaking negative associations with her own body.
Laxmi often works in ultramarine blue, a colour linked to her mother, which adds to the deeply personal quality of her art. She has been commissioned by various independent and commercial clients, and regularly exhibits new work around Londonas well as online.
