RAVEENA
SINGER
Raveena has earned a reputation for taking South Asian musical representation in brand new directions. Her hypnotic vocals are complemented by an equally dreamy visual aesthetic that has come to define her music videos and personal style.
Raveena is also known to creative-direct her own shoots, to make sure the story she wants to tell is balanced with elements from her Indian Sikh upbringing. She began writing her own music at just 13, practicing vocals in her bedroom for hours before eventually enrolling at the NYU Tisch School Of The Arts. After graduating, Raveena found sleeper success with Shanti: a 15-minute single that went on to rack up hundreds of thousands of Soundcloud and Spotify streams. She has picked up further recognition after appearing on Honda Stage, NPR’s Tiny Desk and Colors, and has already completed her first solo tour.
Raveena has also been openly bisexual since 2018, gaining an almost cult following within the queer community for her lush, sensual on-screen representations of queer romance. Meanwhile her recent songs speak to themes of sexual freedom and spirituality, continuing to push her music beyond cultural and heteronormative norms.
