Taran has built his career on not one, but multiple leaps of faith. After trying his hand at investment banking, TV, teaching and law, then being made redundant, he took an architectural photography course that finally revealed his true calling.

Chance also intervened with Taran’s first photo book, inspired by the unusual ‘Segal house’ he lives in with his family. His modest self-published print run sold out in its first day, leading to it being picked up by Park Books and officially made available to purchase. His second book, An Opinionated Guide To London Architecture, followed the next year.

Taran now shoots for editorial, commercial and advertising clients all over the UK as well as around the globe. He’s also a mentor for the Ardagh Young Creatives programme, using his varied experience to help young creatives find their path.
