Gurvinder Singh Malhotra, better known by his ring name Dilsher Shanky, stands at 7 feet tall and was once an accountant in Punjab. Because of his great height, Shanky’s colleagues nicknamed him ‘The Great Khali’ after the former World Heavyweight wrestling champion – sparking his initial fascination in the sport.

Shanky in fact signed up to CWE, The Great Khali’s own wrestling academy in Punjab, that very same year. He was then launched as a ‘CWE Superstar’ under the new name Shanky Singh, before making it through to professional wrestling tryouts for the US-based media company WWE. Shanky now performs under the WWE Smackdown brand, as one of their three Indian trainees. To date, he has won the CWE Tag Team Championship as part of an 8-man tag team, as well as the CWE World Heavyweight Championship like the Great Khali before him. He is also managing to shine outside of the wrestling world, for his skill on the cricket field, and for his recent film debut alongside Bollywood hero Salman Khan.
