PRITT
SINGER
Pritt fuses RnB vocals with Carnatic melodies, weaving together her South London upbringing and classical musical training. Her lyrics are known for being raw, relatable, and unapologetically rooted in female empowerment. Transparency, her most recent EP, has had more than 120K streams in less than 6 months.
Pritt’s musical education began early, with her mother encouraging her to perform as young as 2 years old, and taking her to weekly Carnatic music lessons from the age of 8. She also credits her Tamil upbringing for influencing who she is, and in turn shaping her music – often directly referencing her roots in her lyrics, styling or artwork. Pritt has now come to be recognised by the likes of GQ India, Clash Magazine, Trench Magazine and EARMILK. She has also had extensive coverage from BBC Asian Network and the wider BBC: her first EP was produced in collaboration with BBC 1Xtra presenter Sian Anderson, with her track Tunnel Vision selected as their Introducing Track of the Week. More recently Pritt has been spotlighted on BBC Future Sounds, as a 2021 artist to watch.
